English guided tour of the Jas de Bouffan mansion
This visit will introduce you the Paul Cezanne’s home, which housed his first studio, his early works, and witnessed the growth of his art over four decades.
Through the park and the rooms of the Jas de Bouffan estate, the visit will explore the history of this 18th-century site from its origins to the present day. Residence of the Cezanne’s family from 1859 to 1899, this home sheltered the beginnings of Paul Cezanne's work and the mark of his perpetual artistic exploration. The tour will show living spaces such as the kitchen and the dining room. The grand salon will also be revealed and highlighted through a projection system. It stands as a witness and a relic of Paul Cezanne's early artistic production and the birth of Modern Art. On the upper floors, the visit will offer the opportunity to see the bedroom known as "Léda's" and the first studio of the Aix master, located in the attic.

From June 2025, the town of Aix-en-Provence will be staging a major event dedicated to the painter Paul Cezanne (1839-1906), who was born and died in the town that, with its surrounding landscapes and the mountain that became mythical thanks to his paintings, was the setting for a lifetime's work.
