3 bis f, centre d'arts contemporains d'intérêt national

Combining the visual and performing arts, the arts centre provides a space for exploration that fosters diversity and hospitality.

Since 1983, 3 bis f has been developing a programme of contemporary creation in the visual and performing arts. Fostering interplay between genres, challenging norms, and encouraging both multidisciplinarity and a lack of disciplinary boundaries are key components of its artistic vision.
Through its residency programme, artists work alongside a dedicated team, driven by a
shared dynamic and commitment to breaking down barriers between the arts and different practices, whilst reaffirming the link
between the city, art and the sensitive context in which it is situated: the Montperrin psychiatric hospital. The
arts centre thus experiments and weaves a dense network of solidarity and experiences based on the
sharing of creative practice, open to everyone. In September 2021, the Ministry of Culture awarded the ‘Centre d’art contemporain d’intérêt national’ (CACIN) label to 3 bis f, making it the first artistic creation venue in France to receive this designation whilst being based within a hospital. In 2023, 3 bis f will celebrate forty years of developing an unconventional community-led initiative that combines culture and healthcare at the very heart of contemporary artistic creation
