Hiking trails around Gardanne

Adults, children, inquiring minds, passionated, come to discover a protected natural heritage, a unique environment in the heart of Provence while walking on the paths around Gardanne thanks to our seven trails, that means about 50 km walk. While following the marked footpaths, let yourself charmed by a unique touch of colours.

You will discover its wildlife and persistant flora, pistachio tree and elderberry trees shelting rodent and other little mammals.

Cézanne footpath:

Duration: 2 hours

Distance: 2,3km – Difference in height: 85m

Follow in the footsteps of Cézanne and walk through the key sites related to the artist’s life. Discovery of the old town and the open-air museum.

Luynes footpath:

Duration: 2 hours and 15 minutes

Distance: 5,9km – Difference in height: 100m

This path bordering the Luynes river offers you a beautiful walk among a Mediterranean type vegetation and pass in front of the 4 tower King René’s hunting lodge.

Verdillon wood:

Duration: 1 hour and 20 minutes

Distance: 3,2km – Difference in height: 120m

This path through the woods will head you up small trails covered with tulips, this is the only footpath where you can admire daffodils as well as ophrys.

Gueidan Wall footpath:

Duration: 2 hours and 45 minutes

Distance: 5,9km – Difference in height: 100m

This path starting from the Mediterranean Forest ecomuseum proposes you a pleasant walk with a nice sight on mount Aurélien, Sainte-Baume and Etoile mountain massif.

Footpath in the hills:

Duration: 4 hours and 40 minutes

Distance: 14,2km – Difference in height: 250m

As the name suggests, this footpath will head you through the hills. This mix of the "footpath in the ridges" and "footpath in the valleys" proposes you the Fontbelle edifice and nice sights.

This footpath starting from the Provence Canal offers you an amazing view on Etoile massif, Sainte-Victoire and sometimes Mont Ventoux in favourable weather conditions.
