A Katmandou, le reporter japonais Fukamachi croit reconnaître Habu Jôji, cet alpiniste que l'on pensait disparu depuis des années. Il semble tenir entre ses mains un appareil photo qui pourrait changer l’histoire de l’alpinisme.
