Savonnerie du Midi
The soap factory opens the doors to its workshops and museum dedicated to Marseille soap. Guided tours are free for individuals at 11 am and 2 pm, and for groups at 10 am and 3:30 pm, both with advance booking.
The Savonnerie du Midi is one of the last factories in Marseille to use the traditional skills of a master soap-maker. It has been awarded the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company) label, and is a member of the Union des Professionnels du Savon de Marseille (UPSM).
Free visits Monday to Friday for private customers at 11am and 2pm, by prior arrangement. During school vacations, a 3rd slot is offered at 3:30pm.
Guided tours for groups by appointment, Monday to Friday, times to be confirmed on booking. Reservations at musee@savonneriedumidi.fr. Price: single package from €50
Our tour is ERP and suitable for people with reduced mobility.
We also offer tours adapted to different types of visitors, including a family treasure hunt for children, and give them a coloring book and a bar of soap at the end of the tour (while stocks last).
Tours can be conducted in English.
Access: take bus 30 towards La Savine, get off at Cité des Arts de la Rue, then 8 minutes on foot.
